Dr. Klein grew up in St. Louis, Missouri, and received an undergraduate degree in nursing from the University of Kansas in 1981. She worked as a nurse while completing her undergraduate pre med studies and graduated from University of Louisville medical school in 1988. She completed her Dermatology residency in 1992. Her areas of interest include rashes, skin cancer and general medical dermatology. She is a clinical professor at University of Louisville and staffs a resident clinic monthly. As a physician, Dr. Klein focuses on listening to her patients and educating them about their diagnoses and treatment plans. Dr. Klein is board certified in Dermatology and maintains this status with regular recertification.
She is gratis faculty at the University of Louisville and is a clinical professor teaching the residents at the Veterans Administration Dermatology Clinic. Dr. Klein also volunteers at the Family Community Clinic. She is a member of the Greater Louisville Medical Society, Kentucky Medical Society, Kentucky Dermatologic Society, and the American Academy of Dermatology. She is married to Dr. Jon Klein, a physician with the University of Louisville. They have two daughters, Rachel and Sarah, and a grandson.
